Introduction to the Four Basic Job Classes

Introduction to the Four Basic Job Classes

This article is to introduce you to the four fundamental job classes off of which every advanced job class and beyond is based on. An introduction into each can be found below.   Soldier: This class is about physical prowess and martial might. They wear heavy armor with the highest physical defense and can use a variety of weapons in either offensive or defensive combat styles. Their primary stat is Strength (STR), as it boosts the attack power of their weapons, increases their base health and improves their physical defense.   Offensive Soldiers usually wield two-handed weapons such as Spears, Axes and Two-Handed Swords (referred to as Broadswords). Defensive Soldiers usually wield one-handed weapons such as One-Handed Swords, Maces or Crossbows. Secondary stats tend to depend on the weapon the Soldier has chosen to wield. Offensive Soldiers tend to go for Concentration, Sense or Dexterity for improved attack speed, critical hit rate and accuracy; while Defensive Soldiers go for Charm, Concentration, Dexterity or Intelligence for improved aggro control, accuracy, energy resistance and attack speed.   Muse: This class is about mystic power and energy techniques. They wear light armor with the highest energy resistance (defense against energy-based attacks). They wield either a staff or a wand as their primary weapons, with wand users using a variety of off-hand items depending on their combat style. Their primary stat is Intelligence as is increases the potency behind their energy attacks, gives them a larger MP pool and further increases their mystic defense.   Staff-wielding Muses tend to focus on an offensive play style, wielding a variety of ranged attacks and area-of-effect...

What is an Artisan?

Introduction to the Artisan Class   The Artisan is the crafting oriented class that comes from the Dealer. They get the “Advanced” version of the crafts a normal Dealer gets, allowing them to make even high level weapons and armors with the bonus stats that a Dealer would. They also gain access to crafts that are exclusive to Artisans, such as Gems and PAT parts.   With a focus on crafting, Artisans prioritize increasing their Concentration stat above all else. Not only does it increase crafting success chance, but is also increases the attack power of Guns, their primary means of self defense should the need ever arise.   So what do we mean when we say the Advanced versions of the Dealer crafts? The regular versions of Reinforced, Endowed, Hardened, Darkened, Balanced, Enchanted, Alchemy and Sub item Crafts can only craft items up to a certain level. For the higher level items, their Advanced counterparts are needed. Artisans also gain access to crafts such as Gem Cutting, which lets them craft Gems with which to improve equipment; and PAT Craft, which allows the crafting of Cart parts and Castle Gear components.   Outside of crafting, Artisans do obtain some combat abilities in the form of Poison Shot and Hypno Shot, which damage and apply status effects to their targets and nearby hostile units. They also can hire tough Mercenaries known as Terror Knights to aid them in combat. Their Alchemy Craft also allows them to make a variety of Grenades and Explosives, which can be used to damage and inflict different afflictions to...

What is a Bourgeois?

Introduction to the Bourgeois Class   The Bourgeois is the combat-centric job class that stems from the Dealer. They forego further developing their crafting abilities in exchange for specializations in using either Guns or Launchers. Although they do not have the crafting prowess of Artisans, they are still experts of economy, this is reflected in their access to passives that can increase the amount of money they make off of sales and improve their drop rates so that they are the best at gathering raw materials.   As ranged fighters, their primary stat is Concentration, increasing damage dealt with their weapons and improving their accuracy. Depending on their weapon of choice, they choose different secondaries. Gun wielders tend to focus more on Sense as their secondary stat, while Cannon wielders tend to focus on Strength as a secondary.   Bourgeois that choose to focus on Gun combat gain access to several attacks with different utilities. Some of their techniques use their own funds as empowerment, such as Zulie Stun and Zulie Storm. They also obtain single target attacks such as Zulie Bolt and Poison Shot. Gun users also gain access to a Reflector buff which redirects damage thrown their way back at their senders, making them among the best ranged duelists around.   Cannon Bourgeois choose to take a slower-firing weapon with devastating damage instead the barrage of weaker strikes that a Gun typically does. The weapon techniques of the Cannon are powerful crowd control abilities that deal damage around the target hit by it, thinning out the masses of enemies like few others can. Attacks like Shrapnel Burst...
What is a Raider?

What is a Raider?

Introduction to the Raider Class   The Raider Job Class is one of the second job classes of the HawkerJob Class. Raiders specialize in fighting with hit-and-run tactics by using their great speed, high Dodge Rate, stealth skills and powerful lethal strikes. They are best known for their agility, close combat and stealth. The weapons they use are Dual Weapons and Katars, the stat they focus mostly on is Dexterity. Their different weapons have different playing styles, so we will go over those now.   Hawkers (once they are level 100+) get access to a new movement speed buff called Rapid Twitch which lasts less than Sprint but provides a more powerful movement speed boost. They also get access to a more powerful version of Velocity Accordance called Hawker Accordance, to increase their attack speed to even higher levels. Lastly, all Raiders can get a new type of throwing knife attack called Raider Knife which will put its target to sleep, helping pin down or run away from a target. Raider Discipline also open up to get a few new close combat skills culminating with Letron Punch.   Katar Raiders use stealth to approach their target while being difficult to spot. They have high attack speed to wear down an opponent quickly with a barrage of strikes in between weapon skills. They fight by hitting to opponent with multiple strikes instead of focusing on single powerful hits, however they can use Vicious Accordance, an attack power buff to make sure the enemy goes down swiftly.   Dual Wield Raiders are less stealthy and instead rely on a high dodge...
What is a Scout?

What is a Scout?

Introduction to the Scout Class   Scouts are one of the second job classes that come from the Hawker Job Class. Scouts can rapidly and accurately attack enemies with their archery skills. They are all about unleashing powerful ranged techniques on a target while maintaining a safe distance from them by either slowing them down or using a scout’s constant movement.   The Scout Discipline use either bows or a crossbow and a shield. They can tame animals to fight alongside them and can choose to specialize in moving around quickly and in stealth. A scout that fights using a bow concentrates on rapid attack speed and a barrage of skills. For fighting with a crossbow and shield, they have the advantage of improved survivability at the cost of slower auto attacks.   Using animals and stealth are optional for the scout job class, and can be used to complement either fighting style. Scouts focus on increasing their Dexterity the most, with Concentration and Sense being a secondary...
