Defender Text: Rannas Guide to Summons

AFTER THE DESTRUCTION OF THE LIBRARY DEFENDERS HAVE BEEN RUSHING TO RECOVER TEXTS FROM THE PAST. SOME HAVE EVEN SPENT TIME TO WRITE NEW ENTRIES INTO THE LIBRARY. BELOW ARE TEXTS ADDED DURING THE LAST FEW DAYS. THESE DEFENDER TEXTS ARE ALL WRITTEN FROM ONE PERSON’S POINT OF VIEW AND BELIEF… Clerics have the ability to summon constructs and natives to fight by their side, and even can specialize in this summoning ability within the Conjurer discipline. But using a summon is no easy task. Each summon has their own unique quirks that make their use situational, and not understanding how your summons will act will only lead to frustration and failed objectives. So let’s first talk about the four stances a summon can appear in: Defensive A Defensive summon will attack enemies within a certain radius around itself, and will answer the summoner’s attack command up to 50 yards from its position. Once the enemy dies, the summon will return to the spot where the summoner stood when she gave the command. These summons are useful for holding against a warpath, providing chip damage that can assist the main combatants. Example: Phantom Sword Offensive An Offensive summon will follow the summoner around, hovering and nyooming around her in a certain radius. If anything comes within the summon’s aggro range, the summon will leave the summoner’s side to attack it. Upon the enemy’s death, if there are no additional enemies within the summon’s current aggro range, the summon will return to her side. Offensive summons will also answer attack commands.. Example: Firegon, Elemental Rage An enraged summon is one that does not follow its typical stance....

Defender Text: Crystalline The Plant Fueling Our World

AFTER THE DESTRUCTION OF THE LIBRARY DEFENDERS HAVE BEEN RUSHING TO RECOVER TEXTS FROM THE PAST. SOME HAVE EVEN SPENT TIME TO WRITE NEW ENTRIES INTO THE LIBRARY. BELOW ARE TEXTS ADDED DURING THE LAST FEW DAYS. THESE DEFENDER TEXTS ARE ALL WRITTEN FROM ONE PERSON’S POINT OF VIEW AND BELIEF… Firstly, it’s important to note that crystalline is not just any ordinary rock or mineral – it’s actually a plant. Rather than relying on photosynthesis, it synthesizes directly from the planet’s energy, drawing from the heart of the world. Because of this, it has earned the nickname of “Heartstones.” The growth process of crystalline is unlike any other plant in the world, and its synthesis process is a fascinating phenomenon that has captured the attention of many researchers and adventurers. As a result, it has become a valuable resource with a wide range of uses in technology, magic, and other fields. The synthesis process of crystalline is quite unique, and it’s different from what we typically see in other plants. As energy accumulates in a specific area, a Crystal Heart is formed, and this heart starts to produce the crystal-like masses that we refer to as crystalline. These seeds, called Golden Crystals, are the building blocks of the larger crystalline clusters that grow outwards. The structure of crystalline resembles that of a branch or leaf, with each individual crystal acting like a single leaf or branch, and the larger cluster of crystalline representing a branch that’s branching out from the planet’s heart itself. As it continues to accumulate energy, it gradually sprouts into a beautiful and unique crystalline formation. The large clusters of crystalline that...

Defender Text: The Defender Guide to Demon

AFTER THE DESTRUCTION OF THE LIBRARY DEFENDERS HAVE BEEN RUSHING TO RECOVER TEXTS FROM THE PAST. SOME HAVE EVEN SPENT TIME TO WRITE NEW ENTRIES INTO THE LIBRARY. BELOW ARE TEXTS ADDED DURING THE LAST FEW DAYS. THESE DEFENDER TEXTS ARE ALL WRITTEN FROM ONE PERSON’S POINT OF VIEW AND BELIEF… Sealing is the art of containing or dispersing a demon’s energy. Sealing is a critical practice for those who wish to protect themselves and others from the malevolent influence of demons. Essentially, the act of sealing involves containing or dispersing a demon’s energy in order to neutralize its power. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways, such as by breaking the demon apart or containing it within an object or space. Interestingly, demons themselves are also capable of dispersing energy as a means of defeating their opponents in battle. However, sealing is not a simple technique that can be mastered by just anyone. In fact, it requires a unique combination of knowledge, skill, and energy manipulation that is only possessed by a few Defenders. Kiel, a renowned Defender, is particularly skilled in the art of sealing and has developed a method that harnesses the energy of the defender to force it into the demon. This causes the demon to “explode” and disperse its energy, effectively sealing it away. But the process is not without risks, and it is critical that the defender be in close proximity to the demon in order to insert their energy into its corporeal form. Overall, the act of sealing is a powerful tool that must be used with caution and expertise in order to protect oneself and others...

Wisdom of Mag

Greetings,The following are notes found in a hidden cave of the Anima Lake. They were salvaged and added to the Library. Please handle with care,-Historian Since I began teaching Defenders, I’ve always been working side by side with Clery. These days we find ourselves stuck here, more than we’d like. I love Kiel, and his plan to move slowly seems solid, but at times I disobey and head out to look around. Recently I found myself talking to one of our enemies, a young Mage called Guliarme. He showed me a few things he learned from some of his superiors. As I saw him show me those abilities, I realized that the enemy is using my teaching against us. My duty, when I took it, was to give Defenders the proper tools to survive everything this land throws their way. The fact that demons are the ones who taught this Defender, really hurt me. I made a decision that day, do a little more. Leaving something behind to help those same Defenders, showing them what other Defenders have done before and giving them new tools and guidelines to help improve. The Defender army was formed to protect humanity and unite it.  I will start here with a brief explanation of all the different types of Mages. Apologies, I forgot to let you know who I am. I am the Master Mage Mag, and I will teach you here about the diverse types of Mages that came out of my Discipline. The Types you will read might not be called this way during your time, or don’t have a particular name,...
