Mining Guide

Mining Guide

INTRODUCTION TO MINING Welcome prospectors! You may have come across an interesting object in the world of Defenders of the Cross known as crystalline. They typically show up as a roughly player-sized crystal of a specific color, such as blue for example. These can be mined to acquire crystals of the respective color of the crystalline and some valuable loot used in crafting of gems and accessories. The colored crystals also have importance to the storyline. So, how do you mine these? We will go over that in this guide:   HOW DO WE GET THE CRYSTALS TO DROP? You may have noticed that the crystals do not always drop, what is the mechanic behind them dropping or not? The secret behind this is that doing skills on the crystalline will cause crystals to drop while hitting it with auto attacks will NOT.   HOW CAN I GET THE MOST CRYSTALS OUT OF A CRYSTALLINE? The crystalline will drop crystals of its color every time it gets struck by a skill, so the secret to getting more crystals is to do the least amount of damage possible to it. There are multiple ways of doing this, so feel free to experiment! Depending on the build of your character, this may be harder for some; in those cases it is recommended to seek out the help of other Defenders who can have an easier time not breaking the crystalline too fast.   WHAT OTHER THINGS CAN I GET FROM THE CRYSTALLINE? Crystalline may drop other materials such as elemental ores and spiritual stones, however these drops only occur when the...
Advanced Mail Guide

Advanced Mail Guide

Greetings, Defender!   This is the guide that will allow you to understand more on how the mailing system works in Defenders of the Cross. In DOTC, some Mails are received by other Defenders; however, you can also receive Mails from an Unknown Sender, or a Campaign that was given to you. In order to understand how to read your Mails, we’ve created this Guide. The Community Window This is the window you access by pressing Alt+C while in the game. In it you can see the mail that has been sent you you by people on your friend’s list. However, throughout your time in Defenders of the Cross, there may be documents or messages sent to you from the MOB in the form of messages directed to you by NPCs, SNPCs or a variety of groups or organizations. These messages will also be stored in your community window in the form of mail. An issue that you may run across when it comes to the messages sent by the MOB is that they are not convenient to view, as shown in the example to the right. Furthermore, due to the nature of how these messages are sent, you will also find that erasing them does not work. So how do you deal with this? You check your messages at the source! All of these messages are stored in your computer, here is how to access them:   Go to your main disk – typically Windows (C:) – on your computer, in it you will find the Raxan folder. In the Raxan folder, enters Games then DefendersOfTheCross: Once in this...
