Defender Text: Priest Handbook
AFTER THE DESTRUCTION OF THE LIBRARY DEFENDERS HAVE BEEN RUSHING TO RECOVER TEXTS FROM THE PAST. SOME HAVE EVEN SPENT TIME TO WRITE NEW ENTRIES INTO THE LIBRARY.
BELOW ARE TEXTS ADDED DURING THE LAST FEW DAYS. THESE DEFENDER TEXTS ARE ALL WRITTEN FROM ONE PERSON’S POINT OF VIEW AND BELIEF….
The discipline of Priest is the maximum expression of a cleric that specializes and wields the highest understanding and ability of the flows of energy; a mediatory agent between energies.
A defender’s energy comes from within them, from the core, which we call aura. That same aura can be empowered by the vocal skills a cleric casts called charms, this abilities enhance the performance of an ally, be it their attack power, dodge, defense, etc.
The discipline of Priest focuses on the premise that if a cleric can heal, cure, mend, purify and even restore by affecting with their energy that of another being, can it not disrupt or even disintegrate energy?
As one can heal, one could also damage. And not by physical means, but by the same means as restoration.
Suspensions – Debuffs
So begins the practice to change the flow of energy on a target to cast a negative effect. The skills casted causing negative effects on the target we call Suspensions. A refined practice of energy flow manipulation branching from the study of the Salamancer and Cleri Flame, summoning skills that bring forth a “peculiar” that forces a shift in the flow of energy to weaken all in its surrounding perimeter. The shift in energy is casted on a single target now using a skill such as “Howl” as reference, a vocal intimidation tactic used by soldiers to weaken hostile targets.
Advanced Empowerment – Buffs
An area of opportunity for support clerics that focus on empowerment, casting charms on allies, is being able to affect multiple allies at once to maintain all components of a formation, not just a single target front line, or having to switch from one to another. This as well would make the rotation of casting charms and healing most practical. Applying the same concept of skills such as Blessed Mind and Party Heal the practice of casting charms on multiple targets begin.
