Mana Drill Investigation Device initial Field Test via Field Research of the Wings of Lunar

Principal Investigator: Olleck Basilasi

Prepared by: Iudex Gelehrt

The Mana Drill, a project initiated by the Pioneers as a means to analyze the feasibility of crops in different regions, has been brought forth as a tool for utilization. We embarked on a Field Testing of it, acquiring rock mineral samples at the locations of the “Wings” in Lunar by utilizing the drill. These Wings are commonly known to Defenders as the locations where the teleporter at the Mystic City drops one off.

However, there are several locations of these Wings where the teleporter doesn’t drop a traveler off. All locations were surveyed in this test, both those deemed “Active” and “Inactive” for convenience of reference. It should be noted that this is only a naming convention, and as of the time this research was conducted it is not known if these structures are activated or not in any way, shape or form.

INITIAL TESTING: FREEZING PLATEAU, SOUTHWEST WINGS (INACTIVE SITE)

The Drill was laid out and let operate for approximately 20 minutes. About 15 minutes in, a faint glow was seen underneath it. At the 18 minute mark, strange materials started to come out. When recollected, these materials were identified to be a piece of Mana Wood, a piece of Mana Steel and a cluster of 15 Mana Crystals. These findings were shared with Olleck who commented on it likely being an old crystalline connection of sorts.

TESTING ON ACTIVE SITE: FREEZING PLATEAU, CENTRAL WINGS

The Drill was laid out and, to ensure no damage to underground crystalline connections, it was ran for approximately 12 minutes. The sounds of the drill seemed to aggravate local wildlife, which had to be repelled. From this point onwards, the Mana Drill needed to be refueled during operations as it seems it had exhausted its reverse in the original testing. In order to ensure the drilling was slow and precise, fuel was added at a rate of 1 Mana Oil per minute. When drilling finished, no glow nor mana materials were ejected from the device, signaling that no damage had been done to mechanisms underneath. During this process however, various samplings of rock minerals were obtained from the planet. All future testing yielded these minerals, which are categorized below.

CLASSIFICATION OF ROCK MINERALS:

To simplify discussion of acquired samples using specific color and quality, we’ll give them terms to be called by. Based on the findings of this field research, we’ve come up with these categories:

Scraps: These are the lowest quality rock minerals, they do have a shade denoting which type of mineral it is but it has visible impurities.

Shards: The second lowest in quality. These have a solid coloring unlike the scraps but do not have a glow to them as the other higher quality minerals do.

Clusters: The first mineral to display a level of luminescence, though have but a glimmer to them. One thing to note however is that they show a considerable increase in quality compared to Shards.

Geodes: These have a compact, rounded shape and possess an impressive shine. This is the second highest in quality of the samples obtained. Their particular shape makes the term Geode a fitting one.

Protoliths: These were the rarest, but most impressive. The mineral is basically glowing with an aura of its base color. The high level of purity of this material is what deemed them to be called Protolith.

ROCK MINERAL RESULTS:

Using the terms defined above, the total findings of the drillings is summarized below:

11 White Mineral Shards

14 White Mineral Clusters

18 White Mineral Geodes

13 Brown Mineral Shards

14 Brown Mineral Clusters

13 Brown Mineral Geodes

7 Yellow Mineral Scraps

10 Yellow Mineral Shards

9 Yellow Mineral Clusters

17 Yellow Mineral Geodes

3 Yellow Mineral Protoliths

OBSERVATIONS ON FINDINGS:

Lunar seems to have a higher concentration of the Yellow Rock Minerals, having obtained the most samples in total and the only color where Shards and Protoliths were found.

On the last sampling, the Mana Drill broke apart. The remaining Debris was collected and handed to Olleck for processing by Sergei to determine the cause of the failure and to improve the design.

FOLLOW UPS AND FUTURE RESEARCH:

The obtained Rock Minerals will be provided for analysis. In the meantime there are some questions that have emerged:

If there are crystalline connections under these wing structures, are they what allows the Teleportation network?

If there were connections under an inactive site, what makes them be “active” or not? Is it due to the Wings themselves or is it a calibration of sorts of the Mystic City Teleporter? Knowing the materials used to make these old connections and the ratios used, can a new network be built elsewhere?

The coloring and shine of the Rock Minerals, is it indicative of the natural energy of the planet? Do they hint towards an attunement of sorts? What else can we learn about the Planet via these Rock Minerals?

The glow of the higher quality minerals may hint at energy contained within. Do they contain energy, and if so, how can we make use of them? Can we understand fluctuations in the planet’s energy network from changes in Rock Minerals? If energy is contained within them, can they be used as a source of Primal Energy?

That’s not even to mention the questions that may arise once the samples have been processed. More experimentation will definitely be needed.
